Summer Time Bass
Fishing:
Summer, when the water has warmed up and the spawn is
over and the bass are starting to move into the deep to stay cool, this is when a Crank Bait comes into play,
or a Carolina rig soft plastic.
Again here look for structure, which is where your depth finder comes in handy. I
promise you they will be there waiting on you.
I like the summer because when it gets hot, it is easy for me to find the
fish.
Look for a tree overhanging the water and you can bet there is one or two under
the tree trying to stay cool. Here is when all that practice you have been doing in your backyard pays
off.
You are only going to get maybe one or two shots at this bass hog. Make the cast
count, which means don't throw it up in the tree and have to rip it out or go get it.
The big Hogs spook real fast and they will not come back.
Boat docks are another good place to look for the hogs in
midsummer.
Last but not least is my best fishing time and that is at night. You will have to
come back to the website later on when I do the night fishing trip. Some of the largest Bass I have caught have
been at night.
Fall Time Bass Fishing:
Fall, when the water starts to cool back down and the fish again move to the
shallows, and put on what I call the feed bag loading up for the winter.
Here again is a great time to fish, it is so easy, meaning the fish will almost
jump out of the water and tell you where they are located.
What you want to do is locate the shad. The fish are there no matter what anyone
tells you. The shad will move to the back of coves where the water is warmer and the Bass will follow them like a
puppy dog.
