Weight that you use on a Texas Rig or Carolina Rig can make a difference.
During the summer months I like to use a heavier weight to get it down fast to the cool water and the local
hang out for the bass.
In the winter I will use a lighter weight. I don't want the bait to fly by the fish and have them ask me
what was that you ran past us.
A Good Example of “Do Bass Talk to You”:
When you’re fishing a Top water bait and reeling it back to the boat because you just saw a Bass Hog swirl
the top of the water so you rush to get it in and just before you get it to the boat, the water explodes right
at the boat.
What is the Bass telling me? I want my dinner fast and other times you might have to throw it and let it sit
before moving the Bait.
The examples could go on and on. I was trying to reach a spot by the bank. I had casted and noticed
that I had a Professional Over Run (Back lash) so I was picking it out. During the time I was working on
the fishing line, my bait had slowly sank to the bottom. I guess it had sat there for about three minutes until
I got my reel back in working order and as soon as I moved the bait the bass ate it.
The bass was telling me that he wanted it on the bottom and not to move it for at least a count to
50.
Listen to what the Bass tell you. They will talk to you all the time sometimes it might be a whisper and
other times they will yell at you.
Hey these fish will help you either win a tournament or catch the hog of your lifetime and make it
a fishing trip that you will never forget.
I
also like to keep a log of what happens that day that would include what the Bass told me that
day.
Stop and
Listen.
Keep the Hooks Wet!
