Soft Plastic Lures For Bass Fishing

soft plastic lures for bass fishingIn this article, I have been beating it to death seeing that there are hundreds of companies like Kicker Fish Bait Company that sell thousands of different Soft Plastic Lures for bass fishing.

What I came up with to start off by listing the ones that I fish with most of the time and then later on will get into the other bass lures.

Every one's favorite is the Soft Plastic Worm and the first company that comes to mind is Zoom. They make over 440 colors and the types I like are Dead Ringer, Speed Worms, Trick Worm, Shakey Tails, C-Tail Worm and Magnum Worm.

These can be fished by either Texas Rig, Carolina Rig, or without a weight. I will be getting into rigging in later articles.

If you’re using the Texas style rig, they are good for moving in to thick cover and dropping it down right on the dinner table, without getting hung up.

The Carolina Rig is used more for open water such as point or deep structure as stumps and humps. Then you have the different styles as I mentioned that add action to the bait: The Shaky Tail, C-Tail and Dead Ringer.

The Trick Worms are a little bit different where they have a slow fall or you can use a light wire and have them float.

Another great lure to fish in the summer and can be used around wood, rock, or grass is the Brush Hog. I like the baby in the watermelon seed color. It looks like a lizard but with extra arms sticking out.

All the soft plastic can be fished the same without me repeating myself every other sentence; wood, rock, or grass.

Here again, the Baby Brush Hog is another great lure to drop right down in the middle of a tree.

The Lizard comes in all the lure colors and this I recommend fishing in the early spring through the summer.

Spring is good when bass do not want anything that eats eggs near the bed.

Gary Yamamoto Kreature

When I fish Enid (a Mississippi Lake), I like the Kreature Bait made by Gary Yamamoto. Using the watermelon seed with the red flake design, I have caught some Hogs using this bait.

To entice the bass hogs even more, I always take along a bottle of Dip-It in Chartreuse.

What I do is dip the tips of the arms/wings and tail of the watermelon seed Kreature Bait. This changes the color and puts a garlic scent to it.

Bass love garlic and they will love what you are offering. I dip all my soft plastics either before I leave the house or just before I cast the lure to the water.
