Squirmin Ringed Worm
Rig
For all you worm fishing folks, I have
added the best worm in the world, at least I have found it
to work in almost every lake I ever fish.
Can't explain Why... all I know that the fish love it and if it
aint broke don't fix it.
It is the Bass Pro Shops Tournament Series Squirmin
Ringed Worm Salt Impregnated 7" Junebug color #85.
Note: If
you have trouble finding the Squirmin Ringed Worm, use the
contact form to send me a message and I'll
try to help you find it.
I rig it up using either a bullet weight and a 3 or 4 wide gape
hook. You can see this in the picture.
In the colder months, I like to swap out the bullet weight with
a finishing nail, that way the worm will not shoot pass the
bass on the way to the bottom.
Instead you get a slow fall leaving the bait in the strike zone
a little longer maybe long enough to get that big bite.
You can cut the nail to get the right weight to make that slow
fall, I hardly ever use the whole nail.
Run it through the head just as you were putting the hook on
and then run the hook beside the nail.
See if this don't get you hooked up with a hawg.
Keep the hooks wet!

Thanks for the comment, in answering your question I caught a 9.2 pound bass at Enid a lake in Mississippi on one of my many night fishing trips. Maybe if your in the area later on this summer give me a holler always looking for a partner.

Steve,
Cant wait to get out and try this rid again. Maybe next time we will have better luck with our 2 vs. 2 mini tournament in the stump jumpers. See you at morning sun.
P.S. Try to not get stuck.

I was asked awhile back what was the largest bass I had caught on the Bass Pro Ring worm, and as of March 9, 2009 at 2pm I was lucky and landed a 11 pound female Large Mouth Bass. It just goes to show that this worm will work in almost every lake and will not fail you.
